This is a weekend long, intensive 'boot camp' for DJs who really want to take their skills higher, or for those of you starting out who want to get results, fast.

Over the 2x 6hr sessions (10am - 4pm Saturday and Sunday), our Tutors will go really in depth with you, regardless of your level. This is the time to get really deep on your skills, honing and practising under our watchful eye, getting feedback on your technique, and drills to help you improve.

Bring your own music on a USB Memory Stick, Laptop with Traktor, or Vinyl.

We can also show you how to use your all in one controller if you have one, so you can bring that too.

We'll gauge your current ability and understand where you can improve, and start to give you guidance to up your game, so you can develop at your own pace.

• Beat matching

• Scratch Techniques

• Musical Arrangement & Structure

• Understanding Phrases, Rhythms, Time Signatures

• Knowing when to mix, when to bring the next record in

• Cue Mixing

• DJ Mixer Effects & Looping

• How to Record DJ Mixes

• Traktor Scratch Pro & Digital Vinyl System DJing

• Vinyl Mixing with Technics Decks

• Pioneer CDJ Mixing (including using Rekordbox to organise and playlist your music)

• Set Planning (differentiating a warm up set from a peak or closing set).

At the end of the weekend you'll record a DJ mix at the Academy studio, and receive a recording of it, ready to promote you as a DJ going forward.

DJs dont need to bring anything to the studio. We have everything you need to learn with us from music to industry standard equipment. However if you do have you own music that you want to learn with then bring it on a USB stick, if you have your own headphones or DJ controller then again by all means bring them.
